CLASS (USA)

Maximum Rock 'n' Roll reviewed the Tuscon, Arizona, band's last album: 'channeling some truly classic-sounding tones colored in the rosiest tint of ’77-style punk, If You’ve Got Nothing careens from sounding like the BOYS to the sneering power pop of WHITE HEAT. The wizardry of songcrafting is something to behold, with layers of harmonies propelling ordinary melodies into the orbit of a higher plane. CLASS doesn’t sound that much like the EXPLODING HEARTS, but they draw from the same wellspring of influences.' That means they sound a bit like Buzzcocks in not pretentious.

SOUP ACTIVISTS (USA)

St Louis' Martin Meyer, known in these parts for Lumpy and the Dumpers, shows his less scatalogical side. If you like Television Personalities and the Prats but with really hypnotic ear-wormy keys, you might like this! No, you will like this!

KNITTING CIRCLE (York)

Feat. DIY legends Jo and Pete Dale, Knitting Circle play socially-conscious and urgent post-punk with near-spoken-word vocals, sharp guitar lines, kinetic bass, sci-fi synth swathes, and taut angular drums. They include members of Milky Wimpshake, Crumbs, Red Monkey, and No Fit State.

Local support tbc.
